BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott freshman Colin Costa (West Newbury, Mass.) has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office earlier today.
Costa picked up his first collegiate victory in his first collegiate race as he paced the 36-runner field in the “Battle of the North Shore” to open the Gulls’ cross country season last week.
Costa completed the 5-kilometer race in 16:22, the second-fastest time in the history of the “Battle of the North Shore” race and fastest-ever by an Endicott runner. His first-place finish also helped the Gulls win the dual meet with a team score of 27.
Additionally, Costa ran one of the top-5 times among true freshmen across the NCAA Division III New England region last week.
