SALEM, MA – The City of Salem, per order of the Chief of Police, has imposed temporary parking restrictions on the roadways listed below to allow for the removal of snow following the blizzard of January 29, 2022. The Department of Public Services is working to post temporary no parking signage in these areas. Temporary no parking designations will remain in effect until revoked by the Chief of Police; at that time signage will be removed and an additional announcement will be posted at www.salem.com.
Vehicles parked on these roadways are subject to towing, at the owner’s expense. A list of alternative parking locations is also provided below for residents who live on these impacted streets and who lack off-street parking. If you are not a resident of one of the listed temporary “no parking” streets or if you are and you have access to off-street parking, please do not park in the alternative parking lots, to help keep spaces there available for neighbors who do require them.
As a reminder, property owners are responsible for clearing the snow from the sidewalks adjacent to their property. Please help keep sidewalks clear and accessible for those who require pedestrian access.

Impacted residents may park for free here overnight (6pm to 7am). After 7am, regular lot rates will apply.
Universal Steel parking lot (297 Bridge Street)
Impacted residents may park here for free. There will be no charge to park in this lot, pending further snow clean-up efforts.
Salem Willows parking lot
Impacted residents may park here for free; the Department of Public Services is performing additional plowing in this lot. Meters will not be in effect.
Forest River Park
Currently a designated snow emergency lot. Parking may continue in this lot until further notice.
Gallows Hill Playground lower lot
Currently a designated snow emergency lot. Parking may continue in this lot until further notice.
Mack Park upper and lower lots
Currently a designated snow emergency lot. Parking may continue in this lot until further notice.
Castle Hill Playground
Currently a designated snow emergency lot. Parking may continue in this lot until further notice.
Blaney Street/Salem Wharf parking lot

Las calles permanecerán designadas como “Prohibido Estacionar” hasta que el jefe de la Policía lo cambia; Cuando se cambia esa designación, se quitará la señal y se publicará un anuncio en www.salem.com.
Los vehículos estacionados en estas calles están en peligro a remolque por un propietario. Hay una lista de espacios alternativos para los residentes que viven en estas calles afectadas y no tienen espacios fuera de la calle. Si no vives en una de las calles designados “Prohibido estacionar” o en caso de que vives ahí y tiene espacios fuera de la calle, no debes usar los espacios alternativos. Ayuda mantener espacios disponibles para los vecinos que los necesita.
Para recordarles, los dueños son responsables de quitar la nieve de las aceras al lado de la propiedad. Ayude a mantener las aceras limpias y accesibles para aquellos que necesitan caminar.
