Board of Health to consider maintaining lower capacity limits for October
Salem, Massachusetts – The City of Salem may postpone the start of new capacity limitations at restaurants recently announced by the Commonwealth. Based on new guidance from the state, restaurants could increase the maximum number of patrons at a table up to 10 effective September 28th.
Due to the increasing volume of visitors to Salem in October, the Salem Board of Health will vote at a special meeting on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. on whether to keep the current limitation of no more than six people per table through the month of October. Until the Board votes on this, restaurants in Salem should maintain current table capacity limits of six guests in a party.
Restaurant operators and owners with questions should contact the Salem Health Department at 978-741-1800.
