AMESBURY – Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Essex District Attorney’s Office responded to 2 Pleasant Valley Road in Amesbury this afternoon on a report of a body in the Merrimack River. A local resident spotted the body floating in the water near a dock. The body of an adult white male was recovered from the water. The identity of the body is not known at this time. The matter remains under investigation.
