Beverly – Trash and Recycling Update from Mayor Mike Cahill

BEVERLY – This is Mayor Mike Cahill with a Sunday afternoon trash and recycling update. On Saturday, Republic Services picked up most regular Wednesday streets. They do still need to pick up Hull St. and all streets off Hull St. on the side opposite Centerville School from the Wenham Line to Essex St. Republic also needs to pick up several streets in the Old Rubbly Road/Old Town Road neighborhood, and they will pick up these areas of Centerville tomorrow morning. If Republic missed your street yesterday and it is not in the areas I just described, please e-mail me at mayorcahill@beverlyma.gov and I will try to get a Republic truck to come pick you up tomorrow.
Also tomorrow, the regular Thursday routes should put your trash and recycling out before 7 AM to be picked up together tomorrow as trash. No one else should put anything out at the curb for tomorrow. Regular Friday customers, I will provide further instructions for you tomorrow evening.
Once Republic successfully picks up all Thursday and Friday routes this week, that will signal the end of recycling being picked up as trash. Moving forward, all customers should begin to again keep your recycling separate from your trash. It is unclear when Republic will be able to resume curbside recycling pickup as a regular part of the services they are supposed to provide our community, and I will continue to push for this. Thank you, All,
