Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that the Beverly Police Department arrested and charged a Beverly man with trafficking cocaine.
DAVID DAVIS, AGE 58, OF BEVERLY, was arrested and charged with:
- Trafficking Cocaine (Over 100 Grams)
On Wednesday, June 26, as a result of an ongoing investigation, members of the Beverly Police Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at the Beverly home of DAVIS with assistance from Salem Police.
During a search of DAVIS’ home and vehicle, police located approximately 119 grams of cocaine in various size bags, a digital scale, and $1,033 in cash.
A Beverly Police detective was bitten by a dog while serving the search warrant. That detective was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment of injuries to his arm.
DAVIS was taken into custody at the scene.
DAVIS was arraigned Thursday in Salem District Court and pleaded not guilty.
