Beverly Police and Fire Departments Respond to Apparent Drowning

BEVERLY — Chief John G. LeLacheur reports that the Beverly Police and Fire Departments responded to an apparent drowning on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, Oct. 8, at approximately noon, the Beverly Police and Fire Departments were called to the Bass River Yacht Club, 10 McPherson Drive, for a report of a possible drowning.

First responders arrived at the yacht club and discovered a body in the water. The Beverly Fire Department Dive Team recovered the body and transported it to Beverly Hospital.

The Beverly Police Department, in collaboration with the Essex County District Attorney’s Office, will investigate the death, but a preliminary investigation revealed no signs of foul play.
