Beverly: Monday Evening Trash and Recycle Update from Mayor Mike Cahill

BEVERLY – This is Mayor Mike Cahill with a Monday afternoon trash and recycling update.

Today, Republic Services picked up most regular Thursday streets. They do still need to collect part of the Cove – specifically those streets bounded by and including Cross Lane, Cross St., Hale St., and Boyles St. They also still need to pick up Charnock St. and Pierce Ave. A map of missed streets should be available to view on the city website by 7 PM tonight. If Republic missed your street today and it is not shown as missed on the map, please e-mail me at mayorcahill@beverlyma.gov and I will try to get a Republic truck to come collect your trash and recycling tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, regular Friday customers should put your trash and recycling out before 7 AM to be collected together tomorrow as trash. No one else should put anything out at the curb for tomorrow.
Once Republic successfully picks up all regular Thursday and Friday routes this week, that will signal the end of recycling being collected as trash. Moving forward, all customers should begin to again keep your recycling separate from your trash. Republic is not yet able to resume curbside recycling pickup as a regular part of the services they are supposed to provide our community. I will provide any updates to this as soon as they occur. In the meantime, the yard waste compost site at Standley St. had new dumpsters delivered after the weekend, and there is currently capacity for more recycling. If you want to and can bring yours, the site will be open from 9 AM – 3 PM all this week. Please toss your recycling in one of the dumpsters, and we will have it brought to a recycling facility.
