It has been a very busy week for the Beverly Fire Department. While the storm was dropping snow, your firefighters were out responding to 36 calls for service including two small fire in Beverly. Engines 3 and 5 also operated at fires in neighboring communities in the past two days.
When you move your snow this year, make sure to keep appliance exhausts clear. Many high efficiency appliances exhaust lower to the ground than our older boilers, hot water heaters, and the like. If those exhausts are blocked, dangerous levels of carbon monoxide can build up in your home. Make sure they’re clear, and make sure you have operating smoke and CO alarms in your home!
You will also see firefighters out clearing hydrants. Please be careful when you see the truck on the road. We can’t get to all of them. If you’re able to safely do so, please help out by clearing the hydrants in your neighborhood.
If yours is so buried you cant find it, take a look here https://beverlyma.mapgeo.io/datasets/properties… on the City of Beverly GIS page. There’s a layer just for hydrants!!
