Beverly Fire Department – Sunday – Celebrating a Life Saved

Beverly Fire Department

This is why we do what we do everyday, to see the outcome of our training and dedication to our community. On May 11th the BFD responded to a cardiac arrest patient, the outcome is what we all hope for. Thank you Roberts Family for inviting us today to celebrate Bill’s recovery.

Northeast Regional Ambulance

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 11, Paramedics & EMTs from Northeast Regional Ambulance, along with members of both the Beverly Police Department & Beverly Fire Department, were dispatched to a residence in Beverly for the reported person in cardiac arrest. Upon arriving on the scene, Beverly Police found family members performing CPR and rapidly deployed their AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and delivered one shock. Together with members of the Beverly Fire Department, high quality CPR was continued until Paramedics & EMTs arrived shortly thereafter. Advanced Life Support care was initiated, multiple medications and additional shocks were administered both on scene and enroute to the hospital. The picture below is a result of the efforts of all involved, including those of family members of Mr. William Roberts, who played an integral role in his successful resuscitation.
All that were involved were cordially invited by the William’s family to their home to celebrate this great outcome.
Pictured below are Paramedics Rob Nutting & Ian Helmick. EMTs Kyle Hurst & Tayla Cardillo. Officers Kevin Thomasson, Chris Stanton, & Erik Schultz. Firefighters Ben Blanchette, Dan Bergeron, & Chris LeBlanc. Family members of Mr. Roberts directly involved in the resuscitation were MaryJane Roberts, Jennifer Roberts, & David Carnevale.
Special thanks to MaryJane Roberts and William Roberts for allowing us to share the details of this story and inviting all of us to their home.
