SAUGUS (Video – Photos) The Beverly boys basketball team notched a 68-41 win on the road Tuesday night in Saugus improving their overall record to 9-4. Saugus is also now 9-4 on the season. The Panther’s delivered a balanced offensive effort led by Rook Landman’s 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. The top scorer for Saugus Ben Tapia-Gately’s with 14 points on the night. Other Beverly scoring leaders: Ryder Frost (15) and Dylan Crowley (10), all together 10 different Panthers scored in the game.
The game opened with each team trading baskets in a face paced start. Beverly expanded their first quarter lead (6-5) to 18-10 at the end of the first quarter. The Panther’s outscored the Sachems 18-7 in the second quarter to lead by by 22 points at the half. Beverly maintained their lead in the second half. Their biggest lead came in the 3rd quarter (56-25 / 31 points)
