Beantown Swing Orchestra & Rockport High School Jazz Ensemble:  Making Sweet Music Together

ROCKPORT – (Videos) Rockport High School’s Jazz Ensembles I & II, under the direction of Anthony Covelli, were treated to some in-house music instruction Wednesday from members of the Beantown Swing Orchestra, led by directof Frank Hsieh.  Both groups will be featured in an upcoming concert at the Shalin-Liu Performance Center in Rockport on February 8.

The 18-piece big band performs music of the swing era with its characteristic and infectious swing beat, as well as Sinatra classics. The Orchestra’s mission is to bring big band music back into the mainstream for future generations to enjoy. The orchestra features many young and notable vocalists. The concert will include a local student quintet and vocalist in the program.
