ROCKPORT – Rockport Forest Fire Warden Mike Frontiero told MSO News in an interview today that firefighters are now getting assistance from the National Guard. Frontiero said that the fire that was first reported on July 13 continues to flare up in hot spots in the Woodland Acres area. Sixteen National Guard members, along with the regular Rockport Fire Department are aiding the Forest Firefighters in continuing to contain the fire.
