SWAMPSCOTT – In his 24th year as Swampscott High School’s head hockey coach, there ain’t much that Gino Faia hasn’t seen. The Big Blue return a strong nucleus of playoff-experienced players led by senior forward captain Derek Faia and senior defenseman captain Quinn Hitchcock. Coach Faia may have to rely on two lines until some of the younger players get some valuable varsity experience.
Swampscott opens the season Wednesday against Beverly at Salem State with puck drop at 7:30 p.m.
