WINTHROP – The Winthrop Vikings(13-0-0) needed 71 shots on goal Saturday to come away with a 2-1 overtime win against Newburyport (5-7-1). The win enabled Winthrop to remain as one of only 3 unbeaten teams left in the state. Coach Anthoy Martucci has seen the Vkings remain as the number 4 seed in the MIAA D1 Power Rankings.
Winthrop hosts Marblehead (4-11-0) on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
