LYNN – First year St. Mary’s boys’ hockey coach Matthew Smith has been coaching for more than 23 years overall. In his first year succeeding the legendary Mark Lee, “Smitty” likes what he sees with the blend of veterans and youth that make up the Spartans (9-6-0). After a tough loss to Archbishop Williams (12-2-0 and rated number 2 in the MIAA D1 Power Rankings) Monday, St. Mary’s travels to Arlington Catholic (5-8-0) Wednesday to play its second game in three nights.
