NEWBURYPORT – With just two and a half week left to the “regular” season, Newburyport (3-1, 4-2) and North Reading (3-1, 5-1) are tied for first place in the Kinney Division of the Cape Ann League. Newburyport High football coach Ben Smolski has seen his team turn the season around after two losses in a row a few weeks ago. Riding a three-game winning streak, the Clippers will be hosting the Rockets, who lost for the first time last week in a close game with unbeaten Amesbury (4-0, 5-0).
