LYNNFIELD – Lynnfield High School hockey coach Jon Gardner is expecting good things for the Pioneers the rest of the way this season, recounting that the team has been “snake-bitten” on a few occasions. Even though the team has a 4-6 record, the Pioneers have outscored the opposition, 31-23; and in several losses, they have actually outplayed the other team.
Sitting at number 9 in the MIAA D3 power rankings, Lynnfield hosts the re-match against Triton, ranked #3 in D3, Saturday at noon. The Pioneers won the first game back on December 9 by a score of 4 to 3.

Mike Marenghi records his first HS shutout as Aidan Norton tallies 3 points to lead Lynnfield past Essex Tech! It was a chippy game as Norton scored the first two goals of the game, while Marenghi held down the fort in goal!#PlayHNIB #HockeyNightInBoston #MassHSHockey pic.twitter.com/SH6i6usiIj
