GEORGETOWN – The Georgetown Royals baseball team (22-1) and the Royals softball team (15-6) are both playing for state championships this weekend in the D5 MiIAA Spring Tournament. Baseball coach Phil Desilets had been preparing for the finals scheduled for today (Friday), until bad weather postponed the game until Sunday. Unfazed by the delay, Coach Desilets reflects on the legacy of his senior leadership and the excitement of having two Georgetown teams competing for state championships.
Georgetown, the number 1 seed in D5 baseball, will play English (21-2), the number 5 seed, in Worcester at 10 a.m Sunday for the D5 state championship.
