MARBLEHEAD – Game that featured a ton of offense by both teams – Beverly 12 hits and Marblehead 15.
While the offense for both teams was moving, both starting pitchers battled.
Senior Ben Weed had a tough first inning allowing 3 runs but settle in to go 6.1 for the W.
For Beverly Eric Depiero went 5.1 and was very effective early but Marblehead got to him in the 6th as he began to tire.
Offensively:

Senior Sami Loughlin had 4 hits and 2 RBI
Junior Liam McIlroy had 2 hits including at 2 Run HR (2 RBI total)
Shane Keough, Godot Gaskins and Charlie Titus all added two hits as well.
Beverly
Austin Bernad had 3 hits as did Ben Frost.
Beverly jumped out early in the first with 3 Runs.
While Marblehead was able to get 1 back in the bottom of the first, Beverly added one in the second and two in the third to make it 6-1.
Beverly hit the ball very well early and 5 errors by the Magicians gave them some extra plate appearances.
McIlroy’s two run homerun cut the score to 6-3 where the score remained until the 6th.
Andy Titus lead off with a double. Gaskins moved him to third on a ground out.
A wild pitch then scored Titus.
McIlroy and Schmitt then walked.
Sami Loughlin then hit a wedge shot double down the left field line that scored McIlroy.
Charlie Titus blooped one in to left and advanced on the throw to third.
Keough then double Titus and Loughlin in.
Matt Titus then singled and Keough got to third and then scored on Tom Grooms ground ball.
While Weed started the 7th, AJ Andriano came in for the save as Beverly had 1st and 2nd with one out.
Marblehead now (10-2) travels to Gloucester Monday.
