NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport High School football coach Ben Smolski is relying heavily on his older players to lead the way for the Clippers, and is excited about the large number of athletes who are on the field for Fall 2. With at least a couple of new-to-the-program seniors, Newburyport will open the season at home Friday at 5:30 p.m. against the Hamilton-Wenham Generals.
