Reposting: (Audio) High School Football Coach’s Profile with Danvers Coach Ryan Nolan – Motivated By an Early Disappointing Experience – Passion for Teaching

As the high school fall sports season aproaches, we are reposting some of football coaches’ profiles first published in Aug/Sept of 2023.. In these interviews, the coaches share memories from the days as players and reflect on the events and people that have shaped them as coaches. These interviews were conducted in August, many of them prior to the first day of practices (8/18).

DANVERS – Ryan Nolan was named the new head football coach at Danvers High School replacing Shawn Thibideau in 2017.   Nolan was the school’s defensive coordinator under Coach Theriault. Nolan is a native of Stoneham, having played football at Stoneham High School followed by a college football career at Hamilton College. He has also served on the coaching staffs at Stoneham, Northeast Regional in Wakefield, and Andover.

In this “Coach’s Profile,” Coach Nolan recounts the many great experiences he’s enjoyed over the years as a player, teacher, coach, and student of the game.  He also recalls a disappointing experience he endured during his first high school game as a freshman, and how that experience has helped shape his coaching philosophy.
