Two former NEC opponents squared off Tuesday as Marblehead hosted Lynn Classical at Marblehead High School as the varsity field at Seaside Park was still unplayable from all the weather over the weekend.
Senior Captain Jacob Sherf pitched 4 innings for the win – giving up only 1 hit (lead off of the game) while striking out 9.
Sophomore Shane Keough came in to pitch the 5th inning.
Classical started out with a base hit and then had another runner get on via error but Senior Captain Catcher Charlie Titus caught the runner stealing and then Jacob Sherf worked his way of it.
Offensively Marblehead swung the bats well – 11 hits as a team.
Charlie Titus had two doubles and four RBI’s on the day.
Shane Keough also added two hits and three RBI.
7 other players had a hit for the Magicians.
Marblehead (9-2) next faces Beverly Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at Seaside Park. This is a make up for the postponement of the game that was washed out on Memorial Day.
