Audio: Gloucester Mayor Greg Verga: Update on Recycling Drop-off and Trash Collection

Gloucester Mayor Greg Verga
♻️🗑 Update on Recycling Drop-Off & Trash Collection♻️🗑
We know the ongoing Republic Services labor stoppage has been frustrating, and we want to thank everyone for your continued patience as we work through this together.
Starting July 21st, the City’s recycling drop-off site at 28 Poplar Street will be open Monday through Friday from 12PM to 6PM. This is for residents only, and DPW staff will be on-site to assist.
Curbside trash collection is still running on the regular schedule. Please make sure your trash is at the curb by 7 AM on your pickup day. If your entire street is missed, report it on SeeClickFix, and Republic will return the next day.
We’re also asking residents to hold off on placing any bulk items at the curb for now. With limited capacity, keeping things manageable helps everyone.
While Gloucester isn’t alone in facing this disruption, we’re actively staying in contact with Republic and continuing to push them to meet their responsibilities to our city.
And a huge thank you to our DPW team for stepping up during this challenging time, their hard work is keeping things moving.
