(Audio) Catching up with Essex Police Chief Paul Francis: 133 Bridge Repair; Summer Traffic; New Safety Building; Post-COVID Staffing; Classic Car Show

ESSEX – According to Essex Police Chief Paul Francis, the summer of 2022 has been almost normal, despite the drought, the bridge construction in town on Route 133, and staffing concerns post-COVID.  In an interview with MSO News, the Chief is happy to talk about the new Essex Safety Complex on route 133 and the Essex Police Classic Car Show that returns September 11 after a two-year hiatus.

Essex Police Department Announces Return of Car Show After Two Years

The Essex Police Department is pleased to announce the return of its antique car show after a two-year hiatus.

The show will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, from 1-4 p.m., in the municipal lot at 24 Martin St. The rain date is Sunday, Sept. 18, also from 1-4 p.m.

Classic, antique, muscle, and special interest cars, and trucks and motorcycles are welcome to enter. There is no fee to enter a vehicle. Attendees of all ages are welcome.

The car show could not be held in the last two years, due to COVID-19 in 2020 and the demolition of the Department’s former station in 2021. This year, the Department is excited to bring back this tradition.

“The Car Show has been a highlight of the Department’s year, so we are excited to bring back this tradition,” Chief Francis said. “We look forward to seeing everyone there, and wish to thank our sponsor Brookline Bank.”
