The Ipswich Public Health Department is offering its annual flu vaccinations to seniors in their home by appointment. Paramedics from Action Ambulance will go to seniors’ homes in early to mid-October to administer the quadrivalent regular dose vaccine. There are 150 doses available to Ipswich residents 60 years of age and older.
Appointments are required and may be scheduled by calling the Senior Center at 978-356-6650. The staff at the Senior Center will schedule appointments for a set date and time in October.
While the vaccine is free of charge, insurance cards are needed to complete the paperwork. Masks are required if the health of the senior does not prohibit and wearing clothes with short or loose-fitting sleeves for swift administration of the vaccination are recommended.
Action Ambulance paramedics will wear proper safety equipment for the protection of the seniors and themselves.
Please contact Colleen Fermon, Director of Public Health at 978-356-6606 or Sheila Taylor, Director of Senior Services at 978-356-6650 with questions.
