Public Shoutout to Market Basket
The City of Gloucester Health Department would like to give a shout out to the entire team at Market Basket for their incredible efforts following the fire incident over the weekend. From upper management to staff on-site, and every worker called in to assist, the Market Basket team’s dedication and swift response were nothing short of remarkable.
In the face of a significant challenge, Market Basket formed a task force overnight, ensuring that all health and safety requirements were met before reopening their doors to the public. The Health Department worked late into the night and early the next morning alongside the Market Basket team to verify that food safety standards were upheld.
Market Basket diligently followed every directive provided by the Health Department, fully cooperating with the necessary disposal of affected products and undertaking a thorough cleaning and sanitization of the store from top to bottom. Their commitment to public safety and health was evident in their proactive approach and seamless teamwork.
We commend Market Basket for their professionalism, efficiency, and dedication to the Gloucester community. Your hard work did not go unnoticed!
