LAGRANGE, Ga. — After yesterday’s doubleheader split with LaGrange, the Gulls snatched the finale of the three-game set with an 8-6 win on Sunday afternoon at Cleaveland Field.
WP (1-0): Brady Stuart (Hudson) — 6.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 5 K
LP (1-1): Keller Morey (Lynchburg, Tn.) — 6 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
SV (1): Grady Vanidestine (Brewer, Maine) — 0.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
After last night’s late offensive explosion, the Endicott bats stayed hot in game three. The offensive production paired with Stuart’s lengthy start proved to be enough for a series-deciding road win.
The Gulls put up a four spot in the first thanks to RBI singles from John Mulready (Peabody), Will Frain (Hamilton), and some sloppiness from the LaGrange infield.
Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood) padded the lead with an RBI double off the left field wall in the second, plating Danny MacDougall (Taunton).
MacDougall then made it a 6-0 Gulls lead after he circled the bases on a little league home run, taking advantage of LaGrange’s sloppiness in the infield.
The Panthers scratched across two runs in the seventh, but the Blue and Green quickly responded in the eighth thanks to Kyle Grabowski‘s (Westfield) RBI single and Joe Frammartino‘s (North Reading) RBI double.
Despite a late ninth inning rally from the Panthers, the Endicott bullpen was able to bear down, and Vanidestine entered to close out the 8-6 win.
