LYNN – St. Mary’s hockey coach Matthew Smith had high expectations for his team prior to the season, and, so far, the Spartans (11-3-1) have risen to the occasion. Tonight, the Spartans host the number 1-ranked team in the D1 MIAA Power Rankings, Pope Francis (11-2-0). Last week, St. Mary’s played number 2 Hingham (12-1-1) to a 2-all tie.
