Stoneham Police Arrest and Charge Peabody Man with Trafficking Cocaine

STONEHAM — Police Chief James O’Connor reports that the Stoneham Police Department arrested and charged a Peabody man with trafficking cocaine.

JOHN DA SILVA, AGE 26, of PEABODY, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Trafficking Cocaine

On Saturday, Jan 4. at approximately 3:45 p.m., a Stoneham Police Detective was working a detail in the Redstone Shopping Plaza, 65 Main St. The detective observed what appeared to be a drug transaction involving an individual driving an Audi S5.

The officer conducted a motor vehicle stop of the Audi and identified the driver as DA SILVA.

During a preliminary search of the vehicle and of DA SILVA’s person, with assistance from the Tewksbury Police K-9 unit, officers discovered multiple clear bags containing a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine.

In total, 21.3 grams of what was determined to be cocaine and $740 were recovered.

DA SILVA was arrested without incident.

DA SILVA is scheduled to be arraigned in Woburn District Court on Monday.
