Mayor Dominick Pangallo is pleased to announce that the City of Salem will be offering free downtown parking this upcoming weekend. In recognition of the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, and in order to encourage residents and visitors to shop local this festive season, the City of Salem is offering free parking on Thanksgiving Day and throughout the upcoming holiday weekend.
Parking at all city owned lots, garages, and on-street spaces throughout the City of Salem will be free of charge on the following days:
Thanksgiving Day: Thursday, November 28
Then, as the holiday season kicks off, Shop Local! Parking is free throughout the weekend:
Black Friday: Friday, November 29
Small Business Saturday: Saturday, November 30
Sunday, December 1.
“As the holiday shopping season gets underway, we want to once again encourage Salem community members to shop local and support Salem’s small businesses!” said Mayor Pangallo, “We hope that free parking throughout the weekend will help Salem residents kick off the holidays here in our amazing downtown and support the local businesses that make our city vibrant.”
