The Manchester Police Department is kicking off dogs on the beach season with a special community fundraiser for Daisy the Comfort Dog on Monday, October 14 from 1 PM to 4 PM at Singing Beach. Dogs are not allowed on Singing Beach until October 15 each year however, the Town has given special permission for dogs (and owners) to access Singing Beach a day early for a $10 donation per canine.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the cost of taking care of Daisy such as veterinary needs, food, supplies, and training. Daisy’s care is funded entirely through community donations. Tickets can be purchased online here. Please put “Daisy’s Beach Day in the memo field and bring your emailed receipt to the event. Tickets purchased at the beach on October 14 will be cash or check only. Please note: Dogs are only allowed on the beach for the duration of the event on October 14. No dogs before 1 PM and no dogs after 4 PM.
Daisy, a 10-month-old yellow labrador, was adopted by the Manchester Police Department in April 2024. She lives with Officer Andrea Locke who is the SRO (School Resource Officer) at the Manchester Essex Regional School District. Daisy is currently in active service and provides general support for the students, faculty, and staff of MERSD, as well as the town’s senior population. The K-9 also will serve as a department ambassador during community events.
