We are excited to announce the upcoming Danvers Police Department 2024 D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament at the Ferncroft Country Club on Monday, September 9, 2024. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in this year’s tournament by playing on a team, sponsoring a hole, or making a donation toward our raffle.
The Danvers Police Department D.A.R.E. Program has been operating in the Danvers School System for over Twenty (20) years. Events like the Annual D.A.R.E. Golf Tournament provide the much-needed funding to continue our D.A.R.E. program. The goal of the D.A.R.E program is to teach students positive ways to say no to drugs and violence. It is a partnership between the Danvers Police Department, local businesses, community leaders, parents, and teachers; who all work together to help children deal with the pressures and influences that promote drug abuse and violence. The D.A.R.E. curriculum teaches life skills, such as dealing with peer pressure, bullying, managing stress, developing problem-solving skills, and building self-esteem. Throughout the year, the Danvers Police Department sponsors many D.A.R.E. events such as:
- Before and after-school sports programs
- Saturday Bowling League
- School Dances
- Summer Day Camp
- Scholarships
We encourage you to visit our. D.A.R.E. page to learn more about the program and its importance in our community. All proceeds from the Golf Tournament will directly benefit our D.A.R.E. program initiatives.
