The 193rd has come to an end. The House adjourned for the formal session at 9:16 am and shortly afterwards the Senate gaveled out. In this legislative session, we took on many issues of great importance, and many did not make it to the finish line. Before I returned to Salem, I stopped to chat with representatives of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts of Massachusetts. They had expressed their gratitude that we took on a bill during 23-hour marathon session addressing PFAS in Firefighter PPE and other equipment. It has been a longstanding issue, that a broad coalition of folks including
have been advocating for. This moment was a reminder that the arc of policy and justice is long, we must endure, and that the work we do together can help improve lives. Serving Salem and the people of the Commonwealth in my first term has been a tremendous honor, and look forward to continuing to celebrating what we have achieved and advocating for what is left to be done. Thank you all for entrusting me with this immense responsibility
