Georgetown Police Arrest Juvenile Male of Maine On Multiple Charges

GEORGETOWN — Chief David Sedgwick reports that the Georgetown Police Department arrested and charged a juvenile male of Maine with receiving stolen property among other charges.

JUVENILE, AGE 16, of BIDDEFORD, MAINE was arrested and charged with:

  • Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Receiving Stolen Property
  • Fugitive from Justice (warrant)

On Tuesday, July 30, at about 5:14 a.m., officers responded to reports of a Black SUV that had crashed in the area of Central Street.

An initial investigation by Georgetown Police, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police, revealed that the SUV did not belong to the JUVENILE and that he was operating the vehicle without a license.

Further investigation determined that the JUVENILE had a warrant out of South Portland, Maine in connection to an incident that occurred at a correctional facility on Friday, July 26.

The JUVENILE was arrested without incident and transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the crash.

The JUVENILE is scheduled to be arraigned in Lawrence Juvenile Court later today.
