NewburyportPlanning Director Martha Taylor Retiring after 25 Years

The Town of Newbury invites the community to gather at the Newbury Council on Aging to honor and thank retiring Planning Director Martha Taylor for nearly 25 years of service to the Town. The celebration will be held on Thursday, July 11 at 3 p.m. at the Council on Aging, 12 Kent Way, Byfield. All community members are welcome to attend.

Taylor is a Newbury resident who has been serving the community since 1999. She began her involvement in municipal work as a volunteer member of the Town’s Open Space Committee. She later was elected to the Planning Board, where she served several years before being appointed Town Planner by the Select Board. Taylor has served as Town Planner for fifteen and a half years.

During her tenure, Taylor demonstrated her passion for the growth and development of Newbury through her dedicated service on several Town committees and working groups, including the Merrimack Valley Planning Commission, where she served as Newbury’s Commissioner.
