The Massachusetts Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators (MACLEA) is pleased to share that a new Executive Board has been selected, with Chief Kerry Ramsdell of Endicott College accepting the role of President.

Ramsdell, Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety at Endicott College, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Salem State, and a Master’s of Education from Endicott College, along with significant professional training as a law enforcement executive, including the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award.

She has over 15 years of experience in campus law enforcement and has successfully risen through the ranks of the Endicott College Police Department to her current appointed position as Chief.

The major focuses of her career have been a community-first educational approach to policing and sexual assault prevention and investigation. As the Chief of Police, she oversees a hybrid department of both sworn and non-sworn patrol officers, civilian dispatchers and student employees and interns. Additional duties include being the Co-Chair of the college’s Emergency Response Team, overseeing the Parking Services Division, Deputy Title IX Coordinator, and member of the Diversity Equity Inclusion and Belonging Taskforce.

Chief Ramsdell is an active member of the Massachusetts Chief of Police Association (MCOPA), Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement (MAWLE), Essex County Chiefs of Police Association (ECCOPA) and a member of the School Safety and Security Committee of MCOPA.

She is a proud mother of two young boys and resides on the North Shore of Massachusetts with her loving husband Chris.

This is Chief Ramsdell’s first term as a MACLEA Executive Board Member.

In addition to the appointment of Chief Ramsdell as MACLEA President, the Executive Board elections were also held and Vice President Captain Mark Roche from Tufts University, Secretary Chief Erin Carcia from Babson College and Treasurer Lieutenant David Wade from Bentley University, all of whom have served these positions in the last term, were appointed once again.

“I am excited to see where the next chapter will take us under such caring and dedicated leadership,” said Immediate Past President Lieutenant Laurene Spiess of Boston College. “Each of them brings such an abundance of experience and progressive ideas to the table, that I believe they will make an incredibly strong team to move MACLEA to the next stage.”
