From Beverly Fire Department’s Facebook:
Group 4 is cleaning up after a working fire at 221 Essex St. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building and a fire in the kitchen extending up into the attic.
Firefighters made an aggressive attack knocking down the fire in the kitchen and then worked to dig out the fire in the attic. The family will be displaced until repairs can be made and one woman was transported to the hospital for observation.
The cause of the fire will remain under investigation.
Special thanks to Salem Fire who assisted at the scene and all our mutual aid partners that covered the City. Also, thank you Roger Baker and Rehab 5 for your assistance.
