Peabody Institute Library – Kids ages 5-12 can join us in the Children’s library to make ice cream. Using ice, salt, vanilla extract, and heavy cream kids can watch the liquid ingredients combine with the solid ice to become ice cream. Hamilton-Wenham Athletics – Monday 6/3 Update
- HW Girls Tennis (15-2) has advanced in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals will host Millis High School in the Sweet Sixteen on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00 PM at Pingree School in Hamilton.
- HW Boys Tennis (15-2, CAL Champs) defeated Stoneham last week at Pingree School, 5-0 in the Round of 32 of the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals advance to the Sweet Sixteen and will host Monomoy Regional High School on Monday, June 3rd at 4:00 at Pingree School in Hamilton.
- HW Girls Lacrosse (11-6) defeated South Hadley yesterday at Gloucester High School, 21-10 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament. The Generals will travel to Pentucket High School to face the Panthers on Wednesday, June 5th at 4:00 PM in the Sweet Sixteen. This will be an MIAA, e-ticketed event. Details to follow.
- HW Softball (7-15) fell to Pittsfield yesterday on the road, 14-0 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament – Round of 32. Despite loss to the #3 seed in the tournament, it was a banner year the Generals. This was the first time since the Softball program qualified for the State Tournament since 2017 and it was the first Tournament win since program was re-booted in 2014.
. - HW Baseball (13-8) fell to Dennis-Yarmouth last week at Patton Park, 3-1 in the MIAA Division IV State Tournament – Round of 32. The Generals conclude their season but can look to the fact that they overcame early season adversity and overachieved down the stretch, winning eight of nine games with several walk-offs and upset wins over highly ranked Masconomet and St. Mary’s.
- HW Track & Field concluded its season this past weekend at the MIAA Meet of Champions. The Girls Track & Field Team earned a 2nd Place finish at the MIAA Division VI Championships last week. Junior Georgia Wilson (Triple Jump) Freshman Grace Rich (Mile) were crowned Division Champions in their respective events.
- The Cape Ann League announced its Spring Award Winners last week. Here is a list of all those individuals and teams that earned CAL Honors.
