Sunday Score – Final – Endicott 4, Husson 3 – Regional Title Game
MANSFIELD, Conn. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team triumphed over Husson, 4-3, on Sunday afternoon at the Eastern Baseball Stadium to capture its third consecutive Regional title.
WP (4-1): Brady Stuart (Hudson) — 5.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
LP (1-2): Ryan Penney (Saco, Maine) — 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
The scorching hot bats of the Gulls stayed locked in early, as TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) sent an RBI single past the mound to score Danny MacDougall (Taunton) for the first run of the afternoon.
An at-bat later, Liponis was chased in from first thanks to Robbie Wladkowski‘s (Norwood) wall-ball double in deep left center.
After the Eagles got a run back in the top of the third, Husson was able to scratch another across in the fourth to even the score, but a rangy play from Liponis up the middle stranded three Husson baserunners and avoided any further damage in the frame.
However, an inning later, Husson took its first lead of the game at 3-2.
The Gulls responded with a game-tying RBI groundout from Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth) in the bottom of the fifth.
After Stuart threw up a zero in the top of the sixth, the Gulls reclaimed the lead with a Wladkowski sac fly down the right field line, plating Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) with ease.
Joey Frammartino (North Reading) ended the top of the seventh and kept the 4-3 lead intact with a ridiculous robbery against the right field wall, preventing a would-be game-tying extra-base hit for the Eagles.
Stuart continued to roll through the Eagles hitters in the eighth and ninth, and eventually worked a ground ball over to Liponis at short to wrap up the Regional victory.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is Endicott’s third-consecutive NCAA Regionals title, and third ever Super Regionals appearance.
- Frammartino and Liponis logged multi-hit performances in each of the Gulls’ three Regional games this weekend.
- Stuart made his first appearance since May 1 against MIT.

STORRS, Conn. — The No. 1 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team defeated SUNY New Paltz in Saturday night’s NCAA Regional matchup, 19-12, in a four-plus hour affair at Elliot Ballpark.
WP (8-0): Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.) — 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
LP (3-2): Liam Ryan (Middle Island, N.Y.) — 2.1 IP, 4 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 5 BB, 3 K
SV (3): Evan Scully (Maynard) — 2.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
Facing an early 5-4 deficit in the top of the fourth, Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) stepped up to the plate with runners on first and second and absolutely demolished a 1-2 pitch to give the Gulls a 7-5 lead. The ball landed beyond the Adirondack chairs in right field, into the UConn woods and out of sight.
Later that inning, Joey Frammartino (North Reading) capitalized on a bases loaded opportunity with an RBI single into right field, and Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton) led the offensive outburt with a two-run single into right center, making it an 11-5 Endicott lead after the seven-run frame.
In the fifth, the Gulls grabbed a pair of insurance runs highlighted by John Mulready‘s (Peabody) RBI single to left center, and in the sixth they found three more thanks to a Notarangelo RBI double, a TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) sac fly, and a Mulready RBI walk.
The Blue and Green clutched onto a 16-12 lead heading into the ninth, but again plated some insurance runs thanks to the keen eye of O’Neil (RBI walk) and Liponis’ two-run single through the left side of the infield.
On the mound for the Gulls, John Connolly (Attleboro) got the start and recorded five outs before Hale relieved him and pitched the following three innings in relief. Following Hale’s solid three innings of work, Kyan Bagshaw (Amherst, N.H.) tossed 0.2 innings, Chris Jenkins (Mansfield) logged one, and Scully closed out the final 2.2 frames to earn his third save of the season, nailing down the 19-12 Regional win.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
- The contest featured 29 walks– an NCAA Division III Tournament record. The previous high mark was 25, and the all-time single-game record is 30.
- This marks the most runs scored for the Gulls in an NCAA Tournament game (surpasses 18-8 Regional win over St. John Fisher on 5/21/22).
- Frammartino and Notarangelo each collected three hits and three-plus RBI in the offensive explosion.
- Scully’s 2.2 innings of relief tied a career-high.

Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth) and Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton) each singled in what looked like a promising Endicott first inning, but were eventually left stranded as the Gulls were unable to find scoring in the frame.
The Eagles then jumped out to a 1-0 advantage with a third-inning RBI double into right center.
The Gulls responded in the bottom of the fourth, as Robbie Wladkowski (Norwood) ignited the Endicott offense with a two-run single into the right center field gap, scoring Danny MacDougall (Taunton) and TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine).
In the sixth, the Gulls found an insurance run as Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) jarred the ball loose at the plate on a fielder’s choice play, crossing home with the Blue and Green’s third run of the afternoon.
After a leadoff double for the Eagles in the seventh, Fox replaced Gottesman and limited the damage, only allowing the inherited runner to score and preventing any further damage in the frame.
With a slim 3-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth, the Blue and Green grabbed some much needed insurance via a Brenden Walsh (Reading) RBI walk, a Joey Frammartino (North Reading) sac fly to center, and a Pacheco RBI single through the left side of the infield.
Fox slammed the door against the Eagles with a 1-2-3 ninth (struck out the side), locking up his fourth save of the season and giving the Gulls their first win of the Regional (1-0 record).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Gulls advance to 7-2 in the all-time series against the Eagles.
- Liponis cranked two doubles to deep left center field in the contest.
- MacDougall swiped his 43rd bag of the season and is now tied for the national lead in thefts.
- Notarangelo returned to action for the first time since April 30 versus Trinity. He drilled a line drive single to left field on the first pitch he saw in the contest.
- Gottesman now holds the program’s single-season record for wins (11) and is second in strikeouts (96).
