Marblehead 16, Danvers 1 – Magician game notes; Today was a case of everything just about going right for Marblehead and everything just about going wrong for Danvers. Marblehead put up 4 in the first after a couple of miscues by Danvers allowed some free runners and some extra outs. In the bottom of the first, Danvers a single and stolen base got the runner to second. But that was quickly erased with pick off by Marblehead starter Chris Cannuscio. And to top it off, the next batter Moroney tripled but was then stranded on third. Danvers was still in the game in the third particularly after Marblehead only got one run even though they had bases loaded with no outs. Danvers then started the bottom of the third with runners on first and second with nobody out, but a line drive back to pitcher Cannuscio turned into a triple play for the Magicians. The Magicians tacked on 11 the next inning with a couple of big hits after some free passes. The next game for the Magicians will be this Friday when the two teams meet up again in Marblehead

Salem State 16, Framingham State 1
Connor Dolan (Rockland) went 3 for 5 with 5 RBI to give Salem State a 16-1 MASCAC victory over Framingham State on Tuesday afternoon at Central Campus Baseball Field. The Vikings improve their record to 15-12, 8-7 while the Rams are 11-13, 9-4. The game remained scoreless until the third inning, when Danny Robichaud (Dracut, Mass.) hit a home run that soared over the left field fence, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead. The Vikings put up an impressive offensive display, scoring six runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings. The highlight came when Dolan cleared the bases with a three-run triple. Salem State scored ten runs in the seventh and eighth innings combined. In the seventh inning alone, seven different Vikings’ players recorded an RBI in the inning. The Vikings will travel to Boston for a non-conference game today against Suffolk. Game time is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.

Already leading by 2-0 in the fourth, Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) doubled Endicott’s lead with a two-run double down the right field line, plating Dylan Pacheco (Dartmouth) and Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton). The game remained 4-0 for the next few innings, as Cannata continued to cruise through the Fighting Scots’ lineup. He limited them to just five baserunners (2 HBP, 2 H, 1 BB) in his seven dominant innings from the hill. In the bottom of the seventh, the Blue and Green worked a six-run rally to walk off the contest via the 10-run mercy rule. Pacheco led off the eventful frame with a walk and advanced to second on Notarangelo’s single. After Danny MacDougall (Taunton) reached base via a free pass, Pacheco was sent home due to a balk called on the Gordon pitcher. Notarangelo then wound up scoring on a wild pitch. The Blue and Green continued to pour it on in the frame, as TJ Liponis (Scarborough, Maine) drilled an RBI double to right to score MacDougall. After Elijah Moses (Haverhill) drove in the eighth Gulls run of the day with an RBI hit-by-pitch, Joey Frammartino (North Reading) concluded the rally with a two-run single to right-center, walking it off for the Gulls via a 10-0 score.
- Brenden Walsh (Reading, Mass.) got the start in center and stole a career-high three bags in the contest.
- The Gulls are 13-0 this season when scoring 10 or more runs.
No. 1 Endicott (29-2, 11-1 CCC) welcomes UMass Dartmouth to North Field Wednesday at 3:30 PM. Gordon (7-26, 2-9 CCC) travels to Plymouth State on Thursday at 3:30 PM.
The Endicott baseball team has been ranked No. 1 nationally by both the ABCA and D3baseball.com for the sixth straight week. The Gulls currently hold a team ERA of 2.78, which ranks second in all of Division III and leads the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) by a significant margin. The pitching staff is highlighted by Charlie Hale (Brookline, N.H.), Nicholas Cannata (Marlborough, Conn.), Jordan Gottesman (Acton,) and John Connolly (Attleboro,), who rank first, second, fifth, and sixth in ERA within the CCC, respectively. Offensively, the Blue and Green rank 42nd in the nation in home runs (30) and 50th in runs per game (8.5). Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton), Danny MacDougall (Taunton, Mass.), Joey Frammartino (North Reading) and Brendan O’Neil (Ponte Vedra, Fla.) have been at the forefront of the offensive output for the Gulls this season, as they each rank in the top-20 for home runs, RBI, total bases, and at bats in the CCC.
