NEWEBURYPORT (Podcast) We are now in the high school version of “March Madness”. The #8 seeded Newburyport (18-3) boys basketball team knocked off #25 Hudson Thursday night 60-50 in the MIAA D3 tournament. The Clippers were led offensively by Carson Gretz (21-points) and Finn Brennan (20-points). Newburyport has now moved onto the round of 16. They will play the winner of tonight’s (3/1) game featuring #24 Dennis Yarmouth at #9 Tantasqua Regional (6:45 p.m.) In this podcast Newburyport boys basketball coach Mark Elmendorf discusses their win on Thursday night, shares notes on his players, and makes a few observations on the MIAA D3 boys basketball tournament.
