Endicott College Baseball Preview
BEVERLY — The No. 4 nationally ranked Endicott baseball team is scheduled to kick off its 2024 slate on Wednesday, February 28 at home against Brandeis (3:30 PM). Here’s a preview of the upcoming season.
FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
- The Blue and Green sit atop the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) preseason poll, having received seven out of eight first place votes. The No. 4 national preseason ranking is also the highest ever in program history.
- Senior catcher John Mulready (Peabody) has been named the lone captain for 2024. Mulready comes off a season in which he was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Rawlings NCAA Division III Gold Glove Team. He also slashed .339 /.393 /.503 as an integral two-way player for the Gulls.
- Over the course of the 2024 season, Endicott will face five teams who are either nationally ranked or receiving votes, including No. 1 Johns Hopkins University in Auburndale, Florida.
- Junior infielder Danny MacDougall (Taunton) has been named to the 2024 D3baseball.com All-America third team.
- Senior outfielder Nicolas Notarangelo (Taunton) is 12 doubles away from tying Endicott Hall of Famer Bryan Caruso’s ’02 (Northfield, N.H.) record of 48 and two homers short of tying Caleb Shpur’s ’23 (East Canaan, Conn.) record of 24.
