Nicholas Lemmond (22), Scott Campbell (17) and Ryan Commoss (16) combined for 55 points for the Magicians (13-6), who will try to win their third Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic in a row Monday when they play Bedford in the final. James Vahey led Fenwick (7-13) with 18 points, while Brady Jenkins had 15 and James Meklis scored 14.
Bedford 75, Gloucester 44
Camden Shoesmith (16) and Mekhi Volcy (11) led the Buccaneers, who had 13 players score in an easy win. Trevor Forman added 9 for Bedford (15-3), which will play Marblehead in the championship game of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic for the second straight year, after losing in overtime last year. Carlos Velazquez scored 21 for Gloucester, which will play Bishop Fenwick in the consolation game.
GIRLS
North Andover 60, Peabody 52
Sydney Rogers (22 points, 7 rebounds) and Janie Papell (14 points, 4 rebounds) led the Scarlet Knights to a win in the first round of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic at Marblehead High School. Logan Lomasney led the Tanners with 18 points. North Andover (8-11) will play Reading in the championship game Monday at 4:15 p.m. Peabody (12-7) takes on Masconomet in the consolation game at 1 p.m.
Reading 49, Masconomet 46
Abby Strong’s 3-pointer in the final minute proved to be the difference as the Rockets outlasted the Chieftains in a back-and-forth game in the first round of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic at Marblehead High School. Brooke Pulpi led all scorers with 22 points and had the assist on Strong’s game-winner, while Molly Trahan had 12 for Reading (13-6). Mia Theberge led Masco (13-5) with 16 points. Reading takes on North Andover in the championship game Monday at 4:15 p.m.
