DANVERS – Essex Tech High School hockey coach Mark Leonard could not be prouder of his Hawks (10-6-1). Entering the Cape Ann League in December, and coming out of the gate a bit slow, Essex Tech has has rebounded form 3 consecutive losses to put together a 3-game winning streak that includes a 2-0 win over mighty Winthrop (13-3-2).
The Hawks will travel to Martha’s Vineyard Friday to face a re-match with Lyynnfield (8-9-0) on Saturday in the opener of the Farleigh Dickinson Tournament. With the championship game to be played on Sunday. The other schools in the tourney are host Martha’s Vineyard (8-7-2) and Hopkinton (13-3-2), a D2 powerhouse.
