City of Beverly – The Beverly Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is seeking public comment on applications for the 11th Round of CPA grants. Read the applications ow.ly/CcNk50QyQFq For consideration at the 2/15 mtg, send comments to dwynne@beverlyma.gov by Tues. 2/13.
City of Peabody – The new downtown parking meters are set to go live on Monday, March 4th. Metered parking will be free of charge until that date with meter displays featuring a ‘free parking’ notification.
Salem Mayor Dominick Pangallo – Joined Sustainability & Engineering staff, along with @SalemRecycles, for a tour of @WasteManagement’s Materials Recovery Facility. Observed the site in operation & talked recycling; also observed an audit of a Salem sample – only 5% contamination, good job Ward 3 Green route!
Town of Georgetown – Chief Matt McKay reports that the Georgetown Fire Department received a $15,493 grant from the Department of Fire Services Fiscal Year 2024 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program. The Georgetown Fire Department will use the funding to purchase turnout gear, a gas meter, and a thermal imaging camera. “This grant will allow us to purchase new turnout gear to protect our firefighters, while also equipping ourselves with a new gas meter and thermal imaging camera, all important pieces of equipment,” said Chief McKay. “We are grateful to the Commonwealth for providing this important funding, which ensures our first responders have the most modern equipment possible.”
