Men’s College Hockey

Westfield 6, Salem State 5 – Salem State will be looking to bounce back when they return to Rockett Arena on February 1 to face Fitchburg State for a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) contest. Puck drops at 7 p.m.


Endicott 4, Suffolk 1 – The Gulls raced out to a 3-0 advantage in the first period and never looked back.Michael Casey (Media, Pa.) and Andrew Kurapov (Corvallis, Ore.) both scored on the power play (5:12, 14:23), while Ryan Willett (Bayville, N.Y.) capped the three-goal frame with an even-strength tally at 16:12. John Goldowski (Buffalo, N.Y.) buried the fourth and final tally of the night for the Gulls just 1:40 into the second. In goal, Ryan Wilson (Shelton, Conn.) stopped 30 shots to improve to 7-2-1 on the season. Endicott (12-4-4, 9-2-2 CCC) hosts Western New England on Friday, February 2 at 7 PM.


Women’s College Hockey

Endicott 3, Curry 0 – After a scoreless first period, Payton Hansen (Spring City, Pa.) put the Gulls on the scoreboard just 1:28 in the second frame when she fired a bouncing puck toward the net from the neutral zone that snuck in past Curry’s netminder. A defensive matchup played out the rest of the way until Endicott potted two empty net tallies via Teaghan Hall (West Springfield, Mass.) and Maddie DiNardo (Topsfield) at the 18:35 and 19:37 marks, respectively, to put the game away. In goal, Celia Dahl (Orono, Minn.) earned her first career win and shutout with a 16-save performance between the pipes. No. 12 Endicott (14-4-2, 11-2-0 CCC) visits Western New England on Friday, February 2 at 8 PM.


Salem State 1, Johnson & Wales 1 (Tie) Celeste Scoppettuolo (Revere) scored a goal and Kaia Hollingsworth  (Methuen, Mass.) saved 33 of 34 shots as Salem State ended up with a 1-1 draw against Johnson and Wales in a New England Collegiate Hockey Conference (NEHC) contest on Saturday afternoon at New England Sports Village. The Vikings are know 5-14-2, 2-10-2 on the season while the Wildcats are 5-14-2, 4-9-1.Salem State will be back in action on Friday, returning to Rockett Arena to face off against the Plymouth State Panthers for a New England Collegiate Hockey Conference (NEHC) contest. Puck drop is at 6 pm.
