Gloucester Fire Department Extinguishes Garage Fire

GLOUCESTER — Fire Chief Eric Smith reports that Gloucester Fire Department extinguished a working fire in the attached garage of a home on Old Nugent Farm Road on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, Jan. 19, at approximately 12:11 p.m., the Gloucester Fire Department was called to 46 Old Nugent Farm Road for a report of a fire.

Companies arrived to find heavy fire coming from an attached garage. Crews quickly worked to knock down the fire before it could fully extend to the home.

There were no reported injuries.

Rockport firefighters covered Gloucester stations and Beauport Ambulance was on standby.

The cause remains under investigation by the Gloucester Fire Department, with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Section attached to the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
