(Audio) Interview with Newburyport Mayor Sean Reardon Concerning the Upcoming Whittier Tech Vote – $445M New School Plan Should Have More Input

NEWBURYPORT – Newburyport Mayor Sean Reardon is hoping to put a pause on the plan for a new Whittier Tech Vocational School to be built at the cost of $445M.  A simple majority vote from the 11 cities and towns sending students to Whittier would ensure that Newburyport would have to pay 30 million dollars to the project.  This school year there are 29 students from the Clipper City attending Whittier.

In the interview below, Mayor Reardon explains his reasoning on why the January 23 vote should  be “no,” so that the building plans could be put on hold and re-calculated with the participation of all 11 cities and towns.
