GLOUCESTER – Gloucester High School field hockey coach Lauren Riley Gove has just one small lament: that Tuesday’s game with Danvers (12-1-2) will NOT be for the NEC title. The Falcons already have that wrapped up as the Fishermen are safely ensconced in 2nd place with a record of 12-2-2.
But, Coach Riley’s team is currently number 5 in the MIAA D3 power rankings and might climb even higher after Friday night’s solid 4-0 win over Malden Catholic.(11-4) ranked number 19 in division 2.
Captain Abby Lowthers scored 2 goals, Captain Ella Costa had a goal and an assist, and Lexi Carollo also scored for Gloucester. Lilly Pregent and Captain Ari Scola each had an assist. Sophomore Keagen Jewell secured the shutout in goal.
